First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and Audience Choice Award winners will qualify for up to $5,000 in cash and service awards.  Join investors, entrepreneurs, and the Founders First team! 

About Founders First Challenge Program

Challenge is for entrepreneurs with established businesses, earning between $50K and $250K in annual revenue, who want to achieve growth. 60-day Mini-Accelerator Program consists of four (4) workshops where you will learn how to work ON your business, not just IN your business! Program completes with Pitch and Graduation Event with opportunity to compete for up to $5000 cash and service prizes. Includes 18-months of post program support coaching and support.

Shaylon has experience and knowledge working in local government managing millions of HUD dollars, Rural Development and TDHCA funded housing and community programs. She has experience in grant writing, program creation and implementation. In the nonprofit sector she’s administered education programs to students in Austin Texas on Child Support and Paternity Law from the Texas Attorney General and facilitated trainings and presentations to students in Travis County ISD and the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program. She previously served as the Community Engagement Manager at VolunteerNow and was the liaison for the City of Dallas’ volunteer driven efforts. She has served on numerous committees for City of Dallas Special Events, programs and initiatives as well as consulted on program implementation and adjustments.

She most recently served as the Regional Director of North Texas for On the Road Lending.  And most recently she’s received an award for innovation from the financial inclusion roundtable of Dallas and was also honored to win the 2018 Social Venture Partners Impact Investment Pitch competition. She also served as the VP & President of Collin County Social Services Association in an effort to use her platform and elevate the needs of the community and the nonprofit sector as a whole.

She served as the Communication & Marketing Chair for the Texas Volunteer Management Conference for three years and freelanced for the Dallas Morning News’ Frisco Insiders blog. She received the 2016 Outstanding New Volunteer Administrator of the year by the National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government and currently serves on the advisory committee for Collin County families IMPACT initiative. She is currently seeking new opportunities and adventures that allow her to use her gifts to enhance the mission of a great organization.
